Frank Cilluffo joins the fast-growing global network of cyber-warfare arenas as the company doubles its global network
CYBERGYM, a global network of cyber-warfare qualification and training arenas, where organizations enhance their cyber strategies, today announced the addition of cybersecurity expert Frank Cilluffo as an advisor to the board of their recently opened Manhattan arena. Cilluffo was recently named as Director of Auburn University’s Charles D. McCrary Institute. Prior to his appointment at Auburn, he served as an Associate Vice President at George Washington University, where he developed numerous national security and cybersecurity policies and initiatives.

CyberGym Opens Its First U.S. Cybersecurity Training & Technology Arena

New York City facility will provide training programs tailored for employees and the specific cyber threats facing their organization

CyberGym today announced the opening of its first U.S. cyber training and technology arena, the latest in its global network of facilities where organizations use an emulation of their critical systems to test their people and qualify their cybersecurity technologies and policies.

Located in Manhattan, CyberGym NYC will feature human-centered training and qualification programs based on models of the latest cyber attacks against financial, insurance, critical infrastructure, utility and government organizations. The arena becomes part of the network of CyberGym World Cyber Warfare Arenas, which span across Europe, Asia and Australia.

Copy of Chinese Spy Chip Used in Security Training

Following reports that Chinese spies infiltrated the supply chain of servers assembled by Supermicro Computers Inc., the New York–based CYBERGYM has launched a new infrastructure-security combat training program.

Driven by the belief that threats posed by these types of supply chain and infrastructure hacks are significant, CYBERGYM said it developed the training to help organizations prepare for such an attack. In an effort to make the training as realistic as possible, the engineers and white-hat hackers at CYBERGYM developed a virtual model of the surveillance chip identified in the Bloomberg report. The virtual model emulates the actual attack scenario, which will allow participants to respond to a real-life chain of events, CYBERGYM said.

Israeli ‘hacking school’ to develop next-gen ‘cyber defenders’

Israeli-headquartered cyber security training firm, CyberGym, has launched in SA, to help create the next generation of cyber security professionals.

Founded in 2013, CyberGym is a joint venture of the Israel Electric Corporation, a public company supplying electricity throughout Israel, and Cyber Control, Israel’s cyber security consultancy.

It provides cyber warfare readiness training for governmental and private enterprises globally, with offices in Australia, Czech Republic, Portugal, Japan, Lithuania and the US. Its new Johannesburg-based office is its first commercial facility in Africa.

CyberGym says it has partnered with local cyber research and training firm, Wolfpack Information Risk, to offer cyber security training that goes beyond the traditional approach.

NATO ENSEC COE together with Ukraine institutions organized an Advanced Training Course and Table-top Exercise

On 16-20th October of 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine, the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence (ENSEC COE) and the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine organized an Advanced Training Course and Table-top Exercise on Critical Energy Infrastructure Security called “Coherent Resilience 2017.

The Course was planned in close cooperation with the US Naval Postgraduate School, the Ukrainian National Institute of Strategic Studies and support from NATO HQ and NATO Science for Peace and Security program, which financed the course as part of the NATO Comprehensive Assistance Package to Ukraine.

Telia in Lithuania in cooperation with cyber-defense company Cybergym is establishing a cyber security training center in Vilnius, the first in Northern Europe.

CyberGym comes to Docklands

Israel’s cyber-security leader, CyberGym, last month relocated its global headquarters to the Goods Shed in Docklands.

The Goods Shed became an international cyber-security hub in November, when Minister for Small Business and Innovation, Philip Dalidakis, announced it was home to the Oceania Cyber Security Centre and CSIRO’s Data61 Cyber Security and Innovation Hub.

Israel Electric Corp.’s CyberGym will build a cyber-defense facility for Energias de Portugal.

CyberGym, jointly owned by Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) (TASE: ELEC.B22) and Liacom Systems Ltd., has signed a deal with the Portuguese electricity company Energias de Portugal (EDP) to plan, build, and maintain a cyber-defense training facility. The facility will be launched at the end of this year in Lisbon. The deal is estimated at NIS 45 million.
